After taking Engineering 12: Design Thinking my freshman spring with Professor Eugene Korsunskiy, I was captivated by the world of iterative design. Since then, I have been a teaching assistant for the class during my entire sophomore year through my junior year. In ENGS 12, we walk students through six hands-on projects that help them understand and practice the design thinking process.

Design Coaching
Throughout the 10-week term, we coach students through six hands-on projects each designed to stress different elements of the design process. As a TA, I help guide students during each stage of every project during TA hours and through individual meetings along with the rest of the teaching staff.
Skills Building Workshops
A crucial part of the design thinking curriculum is teaching students how to use the tools that transform ideas into tangible projects. These include 1-hour workshops on Adobe Photoshop and iMovie. For the each of my terms as a TA, I have helped lead these workshops that teach students these crucial skills.
Strategy Team Projects
On the TA team, I also have worked on a number of strategy teams. These are teams within the TA group that work on projects during the academic term to help improve upon certain elements of the course. During my time as a TA, I have helped improve the iMovie workshop by creating a filming video guide for students.

TA Photo Roster
Another project that I worked on during my time as a TA was to design a TA photo roster that fits in the pages of a standard large Moleskine notebook. In ENGS 12, students are required to keep a design log and reading log in a Moleskine notebook. They are given a syllabus and resources list that are sized to fit in a Moleskine. I worked to create a TA photo roster that would help students identify the TAs during the TA help sessions.
